Common Name: Atlantic Blue Angelfish (Juvenile)
Species Name: Holacanthus bermudensis
The Atlantic Blue Angelfish juvenile is a stunning marine fish, displaying deep navy to cobalt blue coloration accented with bright electric blue vertical barring that fades as it matures. Active and inquisitive, juveniles spend much of their time grazing on algae, detritus, and small invertebrates, bringing constant movement and visual interest to the aquarium. While generally semi-aggressive, they may become territorial with age and can nip at corals or sessile invertebrates, making them better suited for fish-only or carefully selected reef systems.
Atlantic Blue Angelfish thrive in well-established aquariums with stable water parameters, abundant live rock for grazing, and ample swimming space. Juveniles can be introduced earlier than adults but still benefit from mature systems to support natural feeding behavior. A minimum tank size of 125 gallons is recommended, with plans to upgrade as the fish grows.
Their diet should include a varied mix of high-quality frozen and pellet foods from San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, PE Mysis, TDO, and New Life Spectrum, along with algae-based offerings and sponge-containing angelfish formulas to support proper growth and coloration. Frequent, varied feedings help replicate their natural grazing habits and promote long-term health.

We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of fish health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of cross-contamination between systems, meaning our livestock are well-prepared for introduction into your display aquarium.
