Species: Entacmaea quadricolor (Sherman morph)
Coral Type: Anemone (Cnidarian – Actiniaria)
Physical Description: Sherman Bubble Tip Anemones are one of the most iconic and sought-after color morphs of Bubble Tip Anemones, known for their intense coloration and classic “bubble” tentacle tips. This morph typically features a deep, saturated red to maroon base that can appear almost metallic under strong lighting, often paired with slightly lighter oral discs and vibrant tentacle tips that may form the characteristic bubble-like swellings. Depending on conditions, some individuals may display gradients of red, burgundy, or even subtle orange undertones. Under actinic and blue-spectrum lighting, the red pigmentation deepens and fluoresces richly, creating a bold focal point within the reef structure.
Coral Type: Anemone (Bubble Tip Anemone morph)
Lighting: Moderate to High (approximately 100–250 PAR)
Flow Rate: Moderate with indirect, variable flow to allow expansion while preventing constant mechanical stress
Food Requirements: Photosynthetic but benefits from occasional target feeding of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, or anemone-specific diets
Aggression: High; capable of stinging nearby corals and should be given significant space to prevent contact
Substrate: Best placed in crevices of live rock where the foot can securely attach, ideally in a stable, mature reef system
We maintain a rigorous, veterinarian-approved quarantine program that includes proactive treatments, careful observation, and daily monitoring to ensure the highest standards of coral and invertebrate health. Our biosecurity practices reduce the risk of any cross-contamination between systems, meaning all our livestock are ready for your display tanks.
